Greyson Scholars was established and named after the founders’ son. Following the birth of their daughter, it is their hope to create a prosperous future and making a difference in their lives and the lives of other young men and women. At a very young age, Khalif and Bianca realized that being from low-income housing communities in Newark NJ and afforded the opportunity to go to boarding school separated them from the shortcomings of their friends, family and peers. There were things that they could see, and determine that their peers lacked, such as emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and basic education skills. Given their experiences they would find themselves helping with homework, giving advice, and being a beacon of light in their neighborhoods.  Considering that, they like many others were pushed to pursue a college education and were sold on the idea of this dream being the end all be all to future success.  Khalif and Bianca were both two aspiring young men and women from Newark New Jersey trying to make it out the conditions they were raised in to shift the narrative for other underrepresented individuals.

Our founders career paths include senior educator and pharmaceutical project manager.  They are also certified foster parents.  Khalif’s plan was not to be an educator because it was not something he was compelled to do but it felt like his calling.  Bianca’s personal mission has been to empower women and young girls to develop confidence.

In its infancy stages, they have enacted a plethora of ideas for the program and there are mentees near and far they have already impacted.  Sharing their stories and or having the opportunity to mentor is their north star.
